Situação inicial

Let’s imagine a small city in Portugal with only two places to stay. Place A is extremely good, employees are super nice and polite, always trying to help clients with the best places to visit, food is extremely tasteful, accommodation is very clean and, for all those reasons, the place represents high quality. Place B is the opposite, employees are always grumpy, they make everything hard and unpleasant, the place is not clean and the food is not that good. As human beings, we experience a phenomenon that psychologists entitle “the fallacy of composition”. Thus, customers that visit place B will say that the village has horrible accommodation and advise their friends not to visit the village. Therefore, place A will also be harmed.

Bearing this in mind, and also with the knowledge that Local Accommodation is growing due to the increase of investment in the tourism area and due to successful and easy platforms like AirBnB, we want to assure the quality of the local accommodation services. Therefore, AHRESP promoted the QUALITY Program in order to guarantee that the quality standards required for these new forms of accommodation are assured. This will also attract tourists to Portugal and leverage Portugal notoriety in an international way.

In order to ensure to respond to the dynamics and the challenges of the growth of Local Accommodation activity, Ubiwhere has developed a set of tools to support the management and the guarantee of standards in the quality of the service, thus contributing to the promotion and international projection of the Portugal destination, together with the creation of a brand that generates more confidence in consumers. For this, Ubiwhere has developed the following project:

  • MultiTask Platform – Platform for Promotion and Commercialization
  • MultiTask Platform – Local Accommodation Monitoring System (SMAL)
  • Institutional platform of the QUALITY Program
